Sister Philip Ann was born and raised in County Kilkenny, Ireland before moving to New York at the invitation of her uncle at the age of 19. Sister Philip Ann always had a passion for helping the elderly, and after volunteering at Mary Manning Walsh Home, made the decision to devote herself to God and join the Carmelite Sisters and help them carry out their mission to care for the aged and infirm. Sister Philip Ann continued her education, training to become an RN at Kings County Hospital,and earned a degree in Health Care Administration from St. Francis College in Brooklyn.
Sister has served at several Carmelite Nursing Homes before coming to Ozanam Hall where she has been Administrator for over 30 years. She is compassionate and caring and works tirelessly, dedicating herself to the Residents and staff at Ozanam Hall where she is beloved by all. Sister has a remarkable capacity to remember details about each resident and can be found at all times of the day and night conversing with the Residents and making them feel loved. Under Sister Philips Ann’s leadership the Home has earned a well-deserved reputation for top notch quality care and for being wonderful place to work.
