The Carmelite System Values

The Carmelite System adheres to the following values.

Catholic Long-Term Health Ministry
Perpetuate and strengthen the Catholic long-term health ministry in the United States and Ireland, respecting and building upon goals, objectives, mission and philosophy of the Carmelite Sisters, and in respects adhering to and be governed by the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services, of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops, as amended;

Dignity - Respect each person as an individual, valuable member of the human community and as a unique expression of human life;

Collegiality - Encourage all those in the System to share in the responsibility for and welfare of the whole organization by providing a forum for discussion when decisions which affect others are being made;

Excellence - Foster personal and professional accountability, motivation, team work and commitment to quality;

Collaboration - Build values-based partnerships based upon relationships of equality and mutuality for the sake of proclaiming the Gospel by improving long-term health care in the community; and

Service - Attend to the poor and the disadvantaged elderly who are in need.

Confidentiality - The System will foster total confidentiality in their relationship with the Affiliates as regards any information that may come to their attention.
